Summit View is working diligently to provide a secure living environment during Covid 19. Extensive cleaning and infection control occur daily. Residents are carefully monitored by nursing staff with daily wellness checks. Employees and other essential workers wear masks and undergo comprehensive screening upon entering the building and there is careful monitoring of any potential illness or exposure. While Covid prevention strategies are vital, it is also critically important that life goes on – providing opportunities for enjoyment, social interaction, growth, stimulation, and spiritual growth. Summit View has creatively found multiple ways to help residents continue to fully live life.

In the Club Houses, residents enjoy programs that include: exercise, games, movies, music, history lessons, worship services, word games, crafts, discussion groups, and parties. Residents are encouraged to participate by receiving Summit Bucks each time they attend. These can then be used at a monthly auction, also in each Club House, for a wide variety of personal and household items, snacks, and other things.

Special carts also visit each resident at least weekly, providing items they can enjoy in their apartments: books, crafts, puzzles, workbooks, etc. There is also an ice cream cart – complete with bell and a store on wheels for personal needs.

Summit View has created a Summit View Giant Window, an outdoor space allowing family and friends to visit residents while still following recommended safety measures. Face Time visits also provide a regular option for staying in close contact.

Meals are delivered to each door three times a day with a variety of interesting and tasty foods. Weekly there is a special theme dinner, along with servers in costume, decorations, and party-favors.
